The Shawnee Mission East Varsity and Junior Varsity Lancer Dancers are having a clinic for all girls interested in learning dance techniques and exciting new dances. The girls who participate in the clinic are also invited to perform at Lancer Dancer Night at SME on Monday, December 15th!

SM East's Lancer Dancers know how to spell success. They're starting the school year with a slew of honors earned at the National Dance Alliance Camp in Emporia over the summer.

The 2008-2009 varsity squad won Team Dance Technical Excellence, Team Home Routine Technical Excellence, Circle of Winners Team Leader-Officers-Gold, and Team Spirit Stick awards. Three team members were named All-Americans and three more were All-American nominees. Varsity member Johanna Cook was named the Top All-American at Camp, Top Gun (leaps and turns), and received an NDA invitation to join the staff.

The 2008-2009 junior varsity squad snagged Team Home Routine, superior rating; Team Dance, superior rating; Team Dance-Circle of Winners-Gold, and Team Spirit Stick. Liz Rogers won an individual award for All-American nominee
